Tata Refractories Limited

Our place is tucked away inside the XLRI Campus in the CH Area of Jamshedpur. It’s a pretty famous spot in the city, mostly known for the college, but Tata Refractories Limited has a presence here too. It’s a lot quieter than the industrial zones on the other side of town. You don’t hear the heavy machinery as much, just the birds and the occasional sound of students walking by. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things from this office. It’s a small team and we’ve all been here for quite some time. The building is older, with high ceilings and heavy doors that have been painted over more times than I can count. We mostly deal with the planning and the logistics that don’t require being right next to a furnace. Jamshedpur is a steel town through and through, so even though we are in a quiet corner, the work is still all about the industry. We spend our mornings going through files and the afternoons answering calls from the different plants. Lunch usually happens at our desks or we walk a bit to find a tea stall nearby. It’s a steady kind of work. Nothing too flashy, just keeping the records straight and making sure the folks at the main works have what they need from us. It’s a good spot to be in if you like a bit of peace while you work.
