Mahalaxmi Metals is based in Naya Bazar, specifically on Ram Tekri Road in Jugsalai. This is one of the busiest markets you can find. There are always people shouting and carts moving through the narrow streets. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We have been in Jugsalai for a very long time. The shop is filled with various metal items from the floor to the ceiling. It is hard to keep everything organized when new stock arrives every day. We don't have a fancy showroom. It is just a shop where we trade and talk to customers. The air smells like metal and the floor is always a bit dusty. We sit on small stools and handle the accounts on a wooden desk. It is a very traditional way of doing business. Ram Tekri Road is loud, but we are used to it by now. We know the other shopkeepers and we often share tea during the slow hours. Mahalaxmi Metals isn't about being polished. It is about the work and the people we see every day. We open early when the market starts to wake up. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know.
