Bimal Steel Traders

Our shop is located at House No-11 in the Golmuri Market, which is a place that never really stays quiet. We are tucked in right near the Rice Market, so there is always a mix of smells in the air, from the grain to the diesel from the delivery trucks. At Bimal Steel Traders, we deal with a lot of heavy metal, mostly rods and sheets that take up most of our floor space. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting around sometimes, and you have to be careful where you step. The walls are a bit stained from all the years of moving iron around, but it’s a working shop, not a showroom. During the summer months, the heat inside gets pretty intense, but we have an old ceiling fan that works hard to keep us cool. Most of the people who come by are locals from the neighborhood who are fixing up their houses or builders who need a few things for a project. We spend a lot of time weighing stuff and cutting it to size. The tea stall just down the lane is where we get our morning snacks, and we usually end up talking to the other shopkeepers about how business is going. It is hard work, and our hands are usually covered in rust or grease, but it keeps us busy. We like being part of the market chaos every day, even when it gets a bit overwhelming.
