Darshan Brass Industries

We are over at K-1/221 in the GIDC area of Shankar Tekri, right in the middle of Udyognagar in Jamnagar. If you know Jamnagar, you know this part of town is all about brass. At Darshan Brass Industries, our day starts early with the sound of the machines starting up. It gets quite loud once everyone is working. We make all sorts of small brass parts and components. The floor is usually covered in those tiny yellow metal shavings that come off the lathes. It’s a messy job, but that is how it goes when you are turning metal. We have been in this spot for a long time. The workshop isn't very large, but we pack a lot of equipment into the space we have. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes the work tough, but we keep the fans going and stay at it. People from all over come to this GIDC zone for brass work, so we see a lot of different faces. We don't have any big corporate slogans or anything like that. We just take the raw rods and turn them into whatever the customer asked for on their drawing. It is just regular, straightforward work. Most of our guys have been doing this for years and can tell if a part is right just by looking at it. We just try to keep the machines running and the orders moving out of the door. The scrap metal gets collected and sent back for recycling, so there is always a bit of heavy lifting involved at the end of the day.
