So, we are based at Plot No. 6/A in Madhuvan Shanti Nagar. Most people find us by looking for the Janta Fatak Road. It’s a pretty lively area, especially with all the movement around Shanti Nagar 4. Working with brass means there is always a bit of a metallic smell in the air and plenty of heat. We’ve got our tools spread out across the floor and things are rarely perfectly tidy. It’s a workspace, after all. The sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone wearing suits. Usually, you’ll find us in our work clothes, probably with a bit of dust on our shirts. The road outside stays busy with rickshaws and delivery vans passing by the fatak. Sometimes the noise makes it hard to hear the phone, so we have to shout a bit. We’ve been in this spot for some time and the neighbors know us well. It’s a simple setup. We come in, check the orders, and get the machines going. Lunch is usually a quick affair brought from home, eaten while sitting on whatever is available. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We like being part of this industrial patch of the city. There is always something to fix or a new batch of items to sort through before the day ends.
