We have been running things here at Plot No. 668 in GIDC Phase 2 for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in Dared, Jamnagar. Mostly we are focused on casting work. The shop gets really hot, especially in the afternoon when the sun hits the metal roof. My brother and I got into this because we grew up around the metal trade. People in the estate just know us as Rupen Cast. We’ve got a mix of equipment, some older machines that still work great and a few newer ones we picked up recently. It involves a lot of manual labor. We get here early to start the furnace and try to get the orders sorted before the week ends. Sometimes the power cuts out, which really slows us down and messes up our timing. Jamnagar is famous for its brass work, so there is always a lot going on around us in the street. We don't have a big fancy office. There is just a small desk by the door where we keep the books and take calls. If you stop by, you will probably see us with dust on our clothes. That’s just the way it is here. We make parts for all kinds of things. Some go into plumbing and others are for bigger machines. It’s steady and it keeps us busy. We like being a local business. The other shop owners nearby are good people. It isn't a polished operation, just a regular workshop.
