If you head down towards Pramukhswami Circle and go into Phase III of the GIDC Estate in Dared, you’ll find us at Plot No. 3688/122. Jmr Brass Industries is right in the thick of things. It’s a noisy part of the world, but that’s because everyone is busy making things. Our workshop is pretty much what you’d expect from a brass place. It’s got that specific smell and there’s always a layer of fine dust on the windows. We don’t really have a front office person, so if you walk in, you’ll likely find one of us actually working on the floor. We’ve got a few old machines that have been around longer than some of the staff, but they still run steady. Usually, we start the day with a quick check of what needs to go out by evening. There isn't a lot of fancy paperwork involved here. We just mark things down in a ledger and get to work. When it rains, the sound on the metal roof is so loud you can’t hear yourself think, but it cools the place down nicely. We just keep our heads down and focus on the brass. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, but there’s a satisfaction in seeing a finished pile of parts at the end of the shift. It is a simple business run by people who know the trade.
