Jain Hr. Secondary School

Our school is located at 17/B, Peepal Wali Gali, which is just off the Link Road in Jammu Tawi. If you have ever walked down this lane, you know it is a bit narrow and always full of life. We have been here for many years, and the old Peepal tree nearby is a landmark that everyone recognizes. The school building has seen a lot of history, with classrooms that have hosted many generations of students. We are a Higher Secondary School, so we deal with the older kids who are getting ready for their exams. It is a very noisy place from the morning bell until the afternoon. You can hear shouting, laughing, and teachers talking all day long. We are not one of those expensive schools with air conditioning and fancy gadgets in every room. We have ceiling fans that hum and big windows that let in the air from the Link Road. The teachers here are mostly people from the neighborhood who have been with us for a long time. We don't have much fancy equipment, but we have plenty of books and people who really care about teaching. In the winter months, Jammu gets quite cold, so the students and staff all wear their heavy sweaters to class. In the summer, we try to get the main lessons finished before the heat becomes too difficult. It is just a regular school doing its best for the kids.
