Ghai Bakers Kitchen

Ghai Bakers Kitchen is right at Shop Number 1 near the Model House Chowk in Jalandhar City. If you know where Model House is, you probably have passed by us many times. It smells like bread and sugar around here most of the day which isn't a bad thing at all. We start early in the morning when most people are still asleep to get the ovens going. It gets quite warm inside the kitchen especially during the summer months in Punjab. We just make things that people like to take home for tea or for a quick snack. The shop isn't very big so it can get crowded when a few people come in at once. We’ve had this spot for a while and the locals seem to like having a bakery right on the corner. Sometimes we run out of things earlier than expected but we just bake more the next day. The floor has some cracks and the counter is a bit worn down from all the bags being slid across it. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on the flour and the yeast. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day but seeing people enjoy a fresh biscuit makes it worth the effort. Jalandhar is a busy city and we are glad to be a small part of it. We keep our recipes simple and don't change them much because that is what our regulars expect when they come through the door.
