If you are in Jalandhar and heading toward the section court, you will likely pass our door. We are located at 179, Civil Lines, sitting directly opposite the court buildings. Being so close to the legal center means our daily routine is mostly dictated by the court schedule. When the court is in session, we have lawyers, clerks, and people with various cases coming in and out all day long. It gets very busy around noon, and the atmosphere is pretty loud and fast-paced. We do not have a lot of time for small talk when the place is full of hungry people. It is a Vaishno dhaba, so things are kept very simple and traditional. The furniture has been around for a while, and it shows some wear from the years, but it is sturdy enough. We start early in the morning to get the stove going and the first batch of food ready for the day. Civil Lines is a decent area, but it is the legal crowd that really keeps us moving. You can hear the sounds of the street and the lawyers arguing sometimes from the front door. We are not trying to be a five-star place or anything like that. We are just a dhaba where you can get a quick, filling meal before you have to go back to the courthouse or catch a bus home. It is a practical spot.
