Doaba Vaishno Dhaba

We've been here at Shop No 46 in Mohalla No 9 for a good while now. Jalandhar Cantt is a busy place, especially around Sadar Bazar, so there is always someone coming in for a meal. It is just a plain spot where we cook what we know. My family helps out, and we mostly keep things the way they have always been. If you walk down from the main market area, you will find us easily enough. The kitchen gets hot in the afternoons, but that is how it goes. We don't have fancy menus or anything. Most people just come in and ask what’s ready. It could be dal or a simple vegetable dish with rotis. The chairs aren't the softest, but they do the job for a quick lunch. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with all the traffic, but inside it's just about the food. We try to keep the place tidy, though it’s an old building. People from the neighborhood stop by, and sometimes travelers too. It is just a regular life here. We open early and close when the food runs out or the day ends. Nothing too complicated about it. It’s just us doing what we’ve done for years in this little corner of Jalandhar. Just simple, honest cooking without the extra fuss you see in the bigger cities. Most of our regulars have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own families.
