Vishvakarma Tant House

Vishvakarma Tant House is situated on Jhotwara Road. It’s a very busy part of town, so there is never a quiet moment. We’ve got a small storefront where we keep some samples of the cloths and decorations we use. The real work happens in the back and at the sites where we set everything up. It is mostly iron pipes and heavy wooden stages that we deal with. My hands are always calloused from handling the ropes and the metal. We have been on Jhotwara Road for quite a while, and people know they can just stop by if they need something for a house party or a local festival. We don't have any polished sales pitch. We just tell people what we have and what it costs. Most of our day is spent organizing the labor and making sure the tempo is loaded correctly. It gets quite chaotic during the peak months, and sometimes we don't get much sleep. We just try to keep our gear in decent shape, though the colors on some of the older fabrics have faded a bit from the sun. It’s a regular life, nothing special, just a lot of hard work and making sure the tents are tied down properly so they don't fly away in the wind. We don't ask for much, just a bit of fair pay for the long hours we put in every single week.
