Satya Narayan Tent House

If you go into Chandpole Bazar and find Uniaron KA Rasta, that is where we are. Satya Narayan Tent House has been helping out with weddings and festivals in this part of the city for a long time. The roads in the old city are very narrow and crowded, which makes our job quite difficult sometimes. We have to move heavy iron poles, big wooden tables, and massive rolls of carpet through the lanes on small handcarts. Our storage area is just a big room filled to the ceiling with chairs, colorful tent fabrics, and crates of light bulbs. Everything gets a bit of dust on it because the bazar is so open and busy, but we clean it all up before we take it to a job. When someone has a wedding coming up, they come to the shop and we sit down to figure out the details. I keep all the bookings in a very large, handwritten register because I do not really trust computers with this stuff. Chandpole is a noisy and energetic place to work. There is always the sound of bells, horns, and people shouting to each other across the street. We often have to work through the night to set everything up so it is ready by morning. It involves a lot of lifting and manual labor, which keeps us very tired but busy. We are just a local crew that knows how to put up a good tent for the neighborhood and we have been doing it for years. (259 words)
