Being in Sarna Dungar Industrial Area, specifically at G-202, means there is always something moving. The mill stays busy most days. We get loads of raw pulses and then the machines start their work. It is loud inside, so we usually talk at the top of our voices. My clothes always have a bit of white dust from the dal processing. We deal with various types like moong and chana. Some days the supply is smooth, other days a truck gets delayed and everything slows down. That is just how the mill life goes. We have a few workers who have been with us for a long time. They know how to fix the machines when they act up. It is not a very clean or quiet job, but it is what we know. The office is just a small cabin with a desk and some old chairs where we sit with the brokers or the truck drivers. Sometimes we have tea together and discuss the market rates which keep changing. The industrial area can get very hot in the summer months, making it tough to work near the machinery. We just try to get the work done and send the bags out to the markets. It’s practical work. No fancy stuff here, just grain and heavy bags all day long. We try to keep the floors swept but it’s a constant battle with the husks. It's just the way it is here for us at the mill.
