Surya Mahal Restaurant

Surya Mahal Restaurant is right on M I Road, which is always busy no matter what time of day it is. People know this part of town well because it is right in the heart of things. Our place has been here for years, and the walls have seen a lot of faces come and go. It gets pretty loud in the dining room when the lunch crowd comes in, and the kitchen staff is always rushing around to keep up with the orders. We don't have fancy decorations or anything like that; it’s just tables, chairs, and the food we cook up every day. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling noise, and we have to give it a kick to keep it going. The guys out front spend most of their time cleaning up spills or showing people to their seats. You can hear the traffic from M I Road even when the door is shut tight. We get locals who come in every week and tourists who look a bit lost. It is a lot of work keeping a restaurant running in such a crowded area, but we just take it one shift at a time. The floors get scuffed and the menus are a bit worn at the edges, but that is just what happens when people actually use a place. We just try to get the orders right and make sure there is enough water on the tables so nobody has to wait too long.
