Maheshwari Traders

Maheshwari Traders is at Shop Number 27 in Sikar House. We are very close to the Maa Sudama Market, which is always a busy place to be. We deal with various goods in wholesale. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every bit of space we have available. The boxes are often stacked high up to the ceiling. We have an old wooden ladder that we use to reach the top shelves. It is a bit of a workout every single day for us. My brother and I manage the shop together. We get here early, usually around nine, before the rickshaws start blocking the streets. By midday, it is almost impossible to move around outside. We do not have any computers or a website. We still use the old-fashioned ledger books to keep track of what we sell. Writing it down by hand just feels more real to us. There is a tea guy who comes around every hour, and we usually have a cup while we wait for the next customer. We know all the other shopkeepers in the building. Sometimes when the electricity goes off, we just sit out front and talk for a while. It is a basic setup but it has worked for us for a long time. We do not need anything fancy to get the job done. We just show up every day.
