Oswal Bags is located at 1053 Bagruwalon Ka Rasta in the Chandpole Bazar area. This lane is famous for a lot of things, and we have been part of the mix for a while now. The shop is basically a long room filled with shelves from floor to ceiling. We have suitcases, handbags, and those little pouches people use for coins. I usually spend the mornings drinking tea and checking what needs to be reordered. The light inside isn't the best, so we often have to take bags out to the front door so people can see the real color in the sunlight. It is a bit of a hassle, but it’s better than them being unhappy later. The flooring is a bit uneven, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. We don’t have any fancy displays or glass cases. Everything is just out there for people to touch and see if it’s what they want. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to Chandpole for years. They like to haggle a bit, and I don’t mind. It’s part of the business. By the time evening rolls around, the street gets even busier, and we usually stay open until the last few people head home. It is a long day, but it’s what we know how to do.
