Shri Karni Tent Decorators

Our place, Shri Karni Tent Decorators, is located at Shop 17 in the Karni Market area of Khatipura Singh Bhoomi. We spend most of our time dealing with pipes, heavy cloth, and lots of poles. Doing tent work means we are hardly ever sitting still. One day we are loading up a truck with carpets and chairs, and the next we are out in some field trying to get a structure to stand straight before the wind picks up. It’s a lot of physical labor. We have a crew of guys who are used to the heavy lifting. The shop in the market is mostly where we store everything when it’s not being used. It’s often a bit messy with rolls of fabric and bags of ropes stacked everywhere. People in the neighborhood know us when they have a function or a wedding coming up. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to folks and figure out what they need for their event. Sometimes we have to work through the night to get a stage ready. It’s tiring, but seeing everything set up at the end is okay. We just try to make sure we have enough chairs and that the tent doesn't leak if it rains. It’s a local business, run by local people who just know how to put a party space together.
