You can find us over in Jhotwara on Niwaru Road, specifically near Shri Punj Garden. This business, Shri Gopinath Tent & Caterers, is one of those jobs that never really stops, especially during the wedding months. Most of our time is spent outdoors, hauling heavy poles, unfolding giant sheets of colorful fabric, and setting up chairs in neat rows. It’s hard, physical work and we usually end the day pretty tired and covered in dust. Then there is the catering side, which is a whole other kind of busy. Huge pots, the smell of spices, and making sure everything is ready exactly when the guests arrive. We don’t have a fancy office; most of our day is really just found in the back of our trucks or in the middle of a decorated garden. Things sometimes go wrong—a tent flap might catch the wind or a delivery might be late—but we just deal with it as it comes. We aren't polished people. We wear comfortable clothes because we’re always on the move. When you see a big event being set up near Shri Punj Garden, there’s a good chance it’s us sweating over the details. We just like seeing a place transform from an empty lot into something special for a night, even if we have to tear it all down the next morning and start again elsewhere. It is hard work but it is our life.
