Shree Shyam Tent House

At Khatipura, in the Choudhary Market at E-9, you’ll find Shree Shyam Tent House. This isn't an office-type job at all. Most of our time is spent out in the yard or at sites, but the shop is where everything is kept. We have huge rolls of colorful fabric, heavy iron poles, and stacks of chairs that go up to the ceiling. It’s a lot of physical labor, loading and unloading the trucks. When a wedding season starts, we barely have time to sit down. Everything is dusty and the workers are always moving things around. Choudhary Market is a good place for us because there’s enough room to get the vehicles in and out. The shop at E-9 is where we take the bookings and show people the different types of tents we have. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s more of a warehouse where you can see the actual materials we use. Sometimes the fabric needs mending or the poles need a new coat of paint, so there is always some work to be done. We’ve been in Khatipura for years, helping people set up for their big events. It’s tiring work, especially in the summer heat, but seeing a whole tent city go up from nothing is something else. We just do the job and get ready for the next one. The market is always busy and we are right there in it.
