People around here know us from the Main Road, right in Gattani Market. We’ve been at this for quite a while now. Sambhar Lake is a quiet place mostly, and being near the New Bus Stand means we see a lot of people coming and going every single day. The salt business is what we do. It’s hard work, dealing with the heat and the white crust of the lake all day. We aren't a big office with shiny floors or anything fancy like that. Most days it is just us making sure things are packed right and the trucks are loaded on time. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that is part of living in this part of Jaipur district. Our family has stayed in this area for generations, so everyone knows where to find us if they need anything. We open early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. You can hear the buses pulling in and out nearby while we move the heavy sacks around. It gets very busy around noon, and we just try to keep up with the orders that come in. There is no secret to how we work; we just show up and get the job done. If you walk past the market, you will likely see us standing outside or checking the inventory. It is just a regular life for us here in Sambhar. We don't have much time for sitting around talking when there are loads to move.
