Shikha Marriage Bureau. You can find us in Malviya Nagar at 10/647. It’s a pretty standard neighborhood spot. We don't have a giant neon sign or anything, just a small office where we keep all the files. People come in with their family photos and biodatas, and we spend a lot of time just listening to what they’re looking for. It’s a lot of responsibility because people are trusting us with their kids' futures. The office is a bit cramped with all the cupboards full of registers and papers. We’ve been doing this for a long time now. Most days involve a lot of phone calls to parents, trying to see if they liked a particular match or not. It’s not always easy. Sometimes people are very picky, and we have to explain that nobody is perfect. We have a few chairs for visitors and we usually offer them some water or chai while we look through the books. The street outside is usually busy with people shopping or heading to the market. We keep things simple here. We don't use fancy software to match people; it’s mostly just us knowing our clients and thinking about who might get along. It’s honest work and it gets quite emotional sometimes when a match actually works out and they come back to give us sweets. We're just here doing our bit in Malviya Nagar every day, helping families connect and hoping for the best for every couple.
