Sharma Pan Bhandar

Sharma Pan Bhandar is a small spot in Sector 2 of Malviya Nagar. We don't need much space for what we do. Our counter has all the jars of betel nuts, gulkand, and different spices we use to make pan. We open up in the afternoon and stay open until very late at night. That’s when the most people come by, usually after they’ve had dinner at home or at a nearby restaurant. It’s a social spot in a way, people stand around for a few minutes, talk about their day, and then move on. We don't have any tables or chairs, just the counter where we work. Our hands are usually stained from the lime or the juices we use. It’s a simple life, just rolling leaves and chatting with the regulars. Sometimes the street gets noisy with loud music or cars, but we just keep doing our thing. We’ve been in Sector 2 for a long time, so we know most of the faces that pass by. We don’t use any fancy apps or delivery services; you just come to the window and get what you want. The light from our shop is often one of the last ones on in the block. It’s not much, but it’s our business and we’ve been here for years. We just keep our jars filled and wait for the evening rush to start after the sun goes down.
