Rohit Dying & Tent Works

You can find Rohit Dying & Tent Works over on Moti Dungri Road. We are near Laddo Walon Ki Bageechi. It's a place with a lot of fabric and different colors everywhere. Since we work with tents and dying, there is always something drying or being folded on the tables. We have large open spaces because the tents take up a lot of room once they are laid out. Sometimes the yard is full of wet cloth hanging on lines. It looks like a big mess to anyone else, but we have a system for everything. The ground is often stained with different colors from the dyes we use. We don't wear fancy clothes because they just get ruined with spots anyway. It’s a lot of physical work, pulling heavy fabric and setting things up for the day. We have a small office tucked in the corner, but we aren't in there much. Most of the time we are out where the action is. The sun helps dry things quickly, so we like clear days the best. When it rains, everything gets much harder. We have to scramble to move the fabric inside so it doesn't get soaked. It’s a simple life and a bit tiring. We have been doing this for years in this same spot. The neighbors are used to seeing the bright colors hanging out on the lines. It’s just how we live and work every day. It is a living, and it keeps us busy.
