Rajan Fire Works & Emporium

You can find us on Hawa Mahal Road. It is a loud place because of all the tourists and traffic passing by the palace. We keep a lot of different fireworks in stock, mostly for when people have weddings or during Diwali time. It is a bit of a seasonal business, so some months are very quiet and we just sit around cleaning the emporium side of the shop. We have some decorative items and small gifts too, not just crackers. Safety is a big thing here, so we have to be careful about how we stack the boxes and keep everything dry. The shop itself has been here for years. You can see the Hawa Mahal right from the front step. When the wedding season hits, it gets really chaotic with people wanting specific types of rockets or sparklers for their parties. We spend a lot of time explaining which ones make the most noise or which ones have the best colors. It gets dusty with the wind blowing off the main road. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a place where you can get what you need for a celebration. The lights inside are a bit dim, but we know where every box is located. It is a family thing, and we just keep it going year after year. We make sure the fuses are dry and the packaging is intact before anything goes out of the door. It is just the way we have always worked here.
