Kedar The Jewellers

You can find us at No. 20 in the Silver Square Mall, right near the Raj Mandir Cinema. It’s a famous spot because of the movie theater, so there’s always a crowd hanging around on the weekends. We see a lot of people who are just killing time before their show starts. They walk in and look at the necklaces and rings, and sometimes they end up buying something small on a whim. The mall has its own vibe, very different from the street shops. Everything is air-conditioned and the floors are always shiny. We spend our mornings setting up the displays and making sure the lights are hitting the stones the right way. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting, but that’s just the nature of the job. Some days are slow and we just chat among ourselves about what’s for lunch or what movie is playing next door. Other days, we have three or four families in here at once trying on different things for a wedding. It gets a bit loud then, but it’s a good kind of busy. We don't have a big corporate team or anything. It's just a few of us here trying to keep things running smoothly. We’ve gotten used to the sound of the cinema crowds and the mall music playing in the background. It is just our daily life here at the mall.
