Being at 2488 Chandpol means we see a lot of the city's movement every day. Govindam Silver Craft is where we do all our work. It’s mostly silver here, and the benches are usually covered in dust from the filing. We have these old tools that have been around for years. The floor is made of stone and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We spend most of our time at the back where the light is better for seeing the small details. Chandpol is a busy area, so there is always noise from the street. We don’t mind it much anymore. Sometimes a tourist wanders in, but mostly it’s local people we’ve known for years. We make things by hand, so it takes time. There’s no rush here. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The shelves are packed with half-finished pieces and jars of flux. It’s a bit messy, honestly. We try to keep it organized, but when you are working with metal, things just get scattered. My hands are usually stained gray by the end of the day. That’s just part of the job. We keep the doors open to let the air move through. It’s a simple setup at number 2488, nothing more. We just work on our silver and keep to ourselves most of the time. The building is old and has its own smells, but it's home to our craft after all this time.
