Patakha Samarat

We’ve been sitting here at Chandpole Bazar 410 for more years than I can really count. My father started this under the name Patakha Samarat, and honestly, not much has changed since then besides the prices of everything going up. The shop is always a bit dusty because of the location, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We spend most of our time moving boxes around and making sure everything is stored exactly where it needs to be so we don't lose track of things. It’s a lot of manual work. When the festival season starts, it gets really loud and chaotic around here. People come in from all over wanting different types of crackers, and the shop gets so crowded you can barely move. We just try to keep things moving and get everyone what they need without too much fuss. Sometimes the stock is late or the weather isn't good, which makes things tricky, but we manage. We aren't trying to be some big corporate chain or anything like that. It’s just us here, working in the heat, talking to the neighbors, and trying to get through the busy days. The old walls of the building have seen a lot of festivals go by. Usually, we are just tired by the end of the day, but that’s the life of a shopkeeper in a market like this. We don't have fancy displays, just piles of what people want and some old fans to keep us cool while we wait for the next customer to walk in.
