Nanakdev Tent House

Nanakdev Tent House is situated in the Swami Sarvanand Market, which is near the Barafkhana area in Jawahar Nagar. It’s a very busy market, especially during the wedding season. Our shop is mostly used for storing poles, rolls of fabric, and heavy carpets. Because our stuff is usually out at different events, the place can look a bit empty or messy depending on the day. We’ve been doing this for a long time now, starting back when my uncle ran the show. It’s a lot of physical labor, loading and unloading trucks at odd hours of the night. We have a small area in the front where we sit with customers and look at color samples for their functions. The fabric gets a bit dusty because of the location, but we try to keep things as clean as we can. We don't really have a big office or a showroom. It’s a hands-on business and we are usually out on the field more than we are in the market. Sometimes things get hectic when two events happen on the same day, and we all have to scramble to get everything ready. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just provide the tents and the seating and hope the weather stays clear for the clients. It’s a lot of hard work but we are used to it.
