Mehboob Tent House

Mehboob Tent House is located in the Moti Katla Bazar area, right near Subhash Chowk. It’s one of those parts of town where the streets are narrow and always full of life. Our work is all about setting things up. We have stacks of heavy metal poles, bundles of colorful fabric, and piles of carpets stored in our warehouse space. When there is a wedding or a festival nearby, things get incredibly busy for us. We have to load everything onto the trucks and get it to the site, then spend hours hammering and tying things together to make the tents. It is hard, physical work and it can be very tiring when the sun is out. Moti Katla is a place where everyone knows each other. We see the same faces every day as we move our gear in and out. The shop itself is mostly just an office where we talk to people about what they need for their events. We have some old photos on the wall of different setups we’ve done over the years. It’s not a fancy place by any means. There’s usually a bit of dust and some loose threads hanging around. We just try to get the job done so people can have their celebrations. During the off-season, things slow down a lot and we spend our time fixing the torn fabrics or painting the poles. It’s a cycle that we’ve been following for a long time now.
