Mamta Tent House

Started the day early at Mamta Tent House. We are located right in Jaipur G P O Nariyana at Azad Chowk. It is a busy spot where everyone seems to be in a hurry. Our shop is full of things for events. We have these large poles made of iron and rolls of colorful fabric that we use to make the tents. Sometimes the fabric gets a bit dusty because of the wind blowing through the chowk. We spend a lot of time cleaning it off. My brother and I manage the bookings. We don't have a computer or anything, we just write everything down in a big register. People come in and ask if we have enough chairs for a hundred people. We usually do, but we have to check the back room first. It is very hot in the afternoons here. We sit under the fan and wait for the sun to go down a bit. The street outside is always noisy with the sound of scooters and people talking. We have been here for years, so we know most of the people who walk past. It’s a simple life. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just provide the tents and the seating for local weddings and small parties. Sometimes we have to work late into the night to get everything loaded onto the trucks for the next morning. It is a lot of hard work but we are used to it by now. We just keep doing what we do.
