Lucky Biscuit Factory

Our place, Lucky Biscuit Factory, is tucked away in Brahmpuri over in Krishna Ngr. If you walk down the street, you can usually smell the baking before you see the sign. It’s a sweet smell that stays in your clothes all day. We have been baking here for a long time. It’s a small operation, not like those giant factories you see on TV. We have a couple of large ovens that stay hot almost all day. Most of the work is done by hand, mixing the dough and putting the trays in. It’s physical work and the kitchen gets very warm, especially in June. We don't have a fancy showroom. We mostly just have the biscuits cooling on racks and then we pack them up. Sometimes the edges of the biscuits aren't perfectly straight, but they taste the same. We sell to local shops and people who just walk in from the neighborhood. We use the same recipes we’ve had since we started. There’s no big marketing team here, just us in our aprons. The floor is always a bit white from the flour, no matter how much we sweep. We enjoy the work, even when the orders are piled up high. It’s a simple business of making something people like to eat with their tea. We just keep the ovens going and the tea ready for breaks.
