Klakrati

Down at 64 Geejgarh Vihar, in Shivpath 22, the area is a bit quieter than the main Godam market. Klakrati is where we spend our hours making things. It’s more of a workspace than a showroom. We have tables set up for the different crafts we handle. The name Klakrati comes from our interest in art, but we don’t treat it like a gallery. It’s work. There’s always someone sanding something or painting a small detail on a piece of wood. We have a small garden area out front where we keep some of the bigger materials that don’t fit inside. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try not to make too much noise late at night. Sometimes the delivery vans get lost looking for Shivpath 22 because the lane numbers are a bit confusing, so one of us usually has to go out to the main road to wave them in. It’s a decent place to work because there’s enough light coming through the windows in the morning. We drink a lot of coffee and just keep our heads down. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to finish the pieces we started. The shelves are overflowing with half-finished projects and jars of supplies. It's a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. That’s just how we operate here in Godam.
