Kanushree Retail Pvt. Ltd. is situated at Landmark S-16/A on Mahaveer Marg in the C-Scheme area. C-Scheme is one of those places that’s always moving, with cars and people everywhere. Our building is easy enough to spot if you are looking for S-16/A. We’ve been here for a while, running our retail business and keeping things organized. It’s not like those giant malls you see nowadays. It’s a more personal space where we know where everything is kept. The mornings start with cleaning the floors and dusting the shelves before the first people arrive. We deal with all sorts of inventory, so there’s always something to count or move around. Sometimes the shipments arrive late, and we have to spend the evening unpacking boxes when we’d rather be home. We don’t use a lot of fancy technology here. A lot of our record-keeping is still done with pen and paper, which we find easier to manage. The staff here is small, mostly just a few people who have lived in Jaipur their whole lives. We talk about the weather or the traffic on Mahaveer Marg while we work. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We don’t put on airs or pretend to be more than we are. We just open the doors every morning, do the work that needs doing, and close up when the sun goes down. It’s been our routine for years.
