Kamdar Tent Hous

Kamdar Tent Hous is located at Dadi Ka Phatak on Sikar Road. Our address is number 13. We provide stuff for functions, mostly tents, chairs, and basic lighting. It’s not a glamorous job. Most of our days are spent in the warehouse, checking if the carpets are clean or if the tent poles need a fresh coat of paint. When the wedding season starts, we are hardly ever home. We load the trucks at dawn and spend the day out in the sun setting everything up. The area around Dadi Ka Phatak is always congested, so getting our trucks in and out is a bit of a struggle. We have a small crew of guys who do the heavy work. They are good at what they do, even if they sometimes arrive a bit late. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just drop by the shop or call us on the phone. Sometimes we run out of chairs because there are too many events on the same day. We try to manage, but it gets hectic. The office is just a corner with a plastic table and a notebook where we write down the bookings. It’s a bit messy, but it works for us. We just keep things moving and hope for good weather during the ceremonies. There is a lot of pride in seeing a whole field filled with our tents and lights, even if we are totally exhausted by the end of it all.
