If you're driving down New Sanganar Road, you'll find Jai Bhawani Jodhpur Misthan Bhandar right across from the Punjab National Bank. We’ve been here for a good while, serving up sweets and snacks to anyone who stops by. The road is always moving, and we get a lot of people just popping in quickly while they're on their way somewhere else. We focus on the traditional stuff, the kind of things we grew up eating. It’s a simple shop. We have the counters filled with whatever we made fresh that morning. We don't do a lot of advertising or anything like that. Most people just know us because they live nearby or they use the bank across the street. It’s a bit of a routine for us. We start early to get the frying and the sugar work done. By the time the sun is up, we’re usually ready. We aren't trying to be a fancy cafe. It’s a sweet shop, plain and simple. We like the regular customers who come in every week for their favorites. It’s nice to know people's names and what they like. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. Sometimes the shop gets crowded during festival times, but we just work faster to keep everyone happy. Being on New Sanganar Road means there is never a dull moment, and we like the energy of the street.
