Hindustan Tent & Light House

Started the day early at 117 Kishanpole Bazar. The street gets busy fast so we try to get things moved before the crowd hits. We have been here for a long time now. The walls are a bit dusty and the light bulbs are stacked up high on the wooden shelves. It is mostly poles and heavy cloth for the tents. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult but we manage. My father used to sit in the same chair by the door. We don't have a big office or anything fancy. Just the shop and the storage space in the back. Customers come in looking for stuff for weddings or local functions. We show them what we have and they decide. The traffic outside is always loud. You can hear the rickshaws and the people shouting all day. It gets hot in the afternoons so we keep the fan running. There is a tea stall nearby that brings us chai twice a day. We keep the registers in the drawer. Most of the stuff is heavy so we spend a lot of time lifting and moving pipes. The lights need checking too. We plug them in to see if they flicker. It is a lot of work but it is what we do here in the market at Hindustan Tent & Light House. Every day is pretty much the same routine. We open up, clean the front, and wait for the trucks to bring in the new gear or take it out for a job.
