If you go to Brahmpuri Indarpuri Colony 43, you’ll find us at Govindam Flower Decorator. The place usually smells like roses and jasmine even before you step inside the door. There are always piles of greens and petals on the floor because we are constantly putting together arrangements or getting things ready for a job. It’s a bit messy but that’s just how it is when you work with flowers all day. We spend a lot of time cutting stems and tying strings. The colony is usually pretty calm but our shop stays busy with people coming in to order things for their houses or for ceremonies. We have buckets of water everywhere to keep everything fresh. Sometimes the humidity in here gets high because of all the plants. We don't really have fancy desks, just large wooden tables where we can spread everything out and work. Most of the time we are just focused on the flowers in front of us. People from the Indarpuri area know us well by now. We’ve got different types of flowers depending on what the market has that morning. It’s hard work on the hands, always being wet or covered in sap, but it's what we do. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the delicate stuff without breaking it. It’s a small, honest shop right in the middle of the neighborhood.
