D P Supariwala

If you are ever on M I Road, you might pass by D P Supariwala at B-44. It’s a small shop but we have been here for quite some time. The air inside always smells a bit sweet and spicy because of all the supari and other things we keep in the glass jars. M I Road is always packed with tourists and local people, so there is never a quiet moment outside. We have our regulars who stop their scooters right in front of the shop just to grab their usual packet. It’s a fast-paced environment but we like it that way. The shop itself is pretty narrow so we have to stack the shelves all the way to the ceiling. We use a little stool to reach the stuff at the top when someone asks for it. Sometimes people just stop by to ask for directions because they are lost on the main road. We don't mind helping out. Working here means you see a bit of everything. From the fancy cars driving past to the rickshaws struggling in the heat. We don't do much marketing or anything like that. People just know where we are. We keep the glass jars clean so everyone can see what’s inside. It’s a simple business of selling small things that people enjoy. By the time we close up, the street lights are all on and the road is still humming with traffic.
