Bharat Tent House

Bharat Tent House has been over here on 60 Feet Road in Mahesh Nagar for quite some time. My father started this because people always needed stuff for weddings and local functions. We have a lot of poles, heavy cloth, and chairs stacked up in the back. It’s heavy work, moving all that gear around in the sun. Some of the tents have seen better days, but they still do the job of keeping the sun off your guests. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks. If you come by the shop at number 5, you might find us sitting outside on some plastic stools having tea. It’s not a quiet place. There is always noise from the traffic on the main road. Sometimes we’re short-staffed when three weddings happen on the same day. Then we are all running around trying to find enough clean seat covers. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. It’s just a storeroom really. We know the neighbors well and we’ve seen the kids on this street grow up. Life moves fast but the tent business stays pretty much the same. We just keep track of our inventory and try to keep the fabric dry when it rains. It’s basic work, but it’s what we do. The winter months are our busiest time. We hardly get any sleep during the marriage season. The rest of the year is much slower. Most of our equipment is older but it works just fine.
