Our office is tucked away at C-153 in the Shanti Nagar part of Nirman Nagar. It’s quite close to the Shyam Nagar Police Station, so it’s a landmark most people in Jaipur know. We are a small team of architects who spend most of our days huddled over drawing boards or out in the sun at various sites. It’s not a very quiet office since there is always something being discussed or a phone ringing about a delivery. We deal with everything from the initial structural sketches to the smaller details that make a building work. There are no polished presentations here; we usually just show clients the raw drawings and explain how things will fit together. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes we get frustrated when a design doesn’t come together as quickly as we hoped. We’ve been in this area for a while and have seen many houses go up on these streets. We like being part of the local building community and knowing the contractors around here. Sometimes the days are long, especially when we are trying to meet a deadline for a site inspection. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about making sure a building is solid and the space inside makes sense for the people living there. If you walk in, you’ll see piles of catalogs and blueprints everywhere. We just focus on the work itself.
