Architects Somya Kriti

Our place is located at 518 in the Chitrakoot Scheme, right off Ajmer Road. It’s a quiet enough spot once you get away from the main road traffic. We’ve been doing architecture work here for a bit. It’s mostly about drawing up plans for houses and making sure the space works the way it should. We aren't a huge firm with dozens of employees. It's just a few of us here. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and structural layouts. Sometimes people come in with a very specific idea of what they want, and other times they just have a general notion. We try to put those ideas onto paper. The office is usually filled with rolls of paper and rulers. We don't spend much on fancy furniture for ourselves; we’d rather focus on the projects we have going on. Jaipur is growing fast, and being out here near Ajmer Road means we see a lot of the new construction happening. We spend quite a bit of our day visiting sites to see how the walls are coming up. It's practical work. There's a lot of back and forth with the builders and owners. We just stay here and do our thing, helping folks get their homes sorted out. It’s a regular job for us and we enjoy being part of the neighborhood. We keep our hours steady and try to stay productive.
