Atelier D Architects

You can find us at Lalkothi on Tonk Road, number 217. Being on Tonk Road means it’s always busy outside, which is quite different from the quiet we try to keep inside the office. Atelier D Architects is a small group of us who really just enjoy the process of design. Our office isn't very large. We have a few big tables for layouts and some computers that are usually running some kind of heavy software. It gets a bit cramped when we have all our rolls of paper out. Lalkothi is a good central spot, so it’s easy for people to drop by, though parking can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations for the office. Most of the walls are covered in half-finished sketches and sticky notes. We spend our days arguing about dimensions and talking to builders. It’s a lot of technical work that people don’t always see. We don’t have a big corporate hierarchy here. Everyone just chips in on whatever needs to be done. We’ve been at this location for a while and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the street. Sometimes we go out for a quick lunch at one of the local stalls and then get right back to the drawings. It’s a simple, hardworking life we have here, just focused on getting the architecture right for every project we take on.
