Badhaya Tent House

We’re located in the Jhotwara area, specifically on Kalwar Road. Badhaya Tent House has been operating from this spot for a good number of years now. This road has actually grown much busier recently, with all the new houses and buildings being constructed nearby. Our place is fairly easy to find because we usually have some wooden poles or bundles of cloth sitting out near the front entrance. It’s a bit of a dusty neighborhood, especially when the wind blows across the open plots that are still left nearby. Inside the building, it feels like a bit of a maze because of all the tent supplies piled up high. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning here, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum all day long. Usually, there’s a bit of a mess on the floor from pieces of rope and bits of tape. We try to keep the place organized, but it’s honestly quite difficult when you’re moving heavy things in and out every single day. Most of our neighbors are small businesses just like ours. We usually get our lunch from a small dhaba located just a little further down the street. It’s a very simple way of life for us here on Kalwar Road. We work hard, especially when we have big events to get ready for. During the slower months, we just maintain the gear and fix any tears in the cloth. It’s an honest living and we’re here most days.
