Tara Caterers

Out here in Koti, specifically in Gujarati Galli, things are always moving fast. We operate out of Jadav Bhavan and it’s a lively place to be. Catering isn't an easy job because there is always something to transport or a big pot to scrub. We spend a lot of our time planning how to get food from our kitchen to wherever the party or event is happening. Sometimes the narrow streets make it tricky to load the vans, but we’ve lived in Hyderabad long enough to figure out the shortcuts. We don't really have a big storefront for people to sit in; it’s more about the work going on behind the scenes. You’ll hear the sound of knives hitting cutting boards and the smell of spices being toasted most mornings. It’s a family-style operation where everyone knows their job. We’ve seen a lot of weddings and small gatherings over the years. We don't try to be something we aren't. We are just local people who know how to cook for a crowd. If the food is ready and there’s enough for everyone, we feel like the day was a success. It’s mostly about making sure the salt is right and the delivery is on time. Koti is a crowded area, but we like the energy of it. It keeps us on our toes every single day, and we wouldn't know what to do if it was quiet.
