Sri Ratna Reddy Swagruha Foods

Sri Ratna Reddy Swagruha Foods is tucked into the Queens Etarnia building in Suchitra, which is part of the Qutubullapur area. We are quite close to Swaroopa Hospital, so we get a lot of people stopping by when they are visiting family there. Swagruha means home-made, and that is exactly how we try to do things. The kitchen is always going with the smell of roasted nuts or sugar syrup. We make all the traditional stuff like laddoos and murukulu. It is a small space but we pack a lot into it. We don't use those giant factory machines. Most of it is done by hand because that is the only way the taste stays right. Sometimes we run out of things by the afternoon because we only make so much each day. We aren't trying to sell to big supermarkets. We just like seeing the local people from the apartments around Suchitra come in for their evening snacks. The floors are usually a bit sticky and it is always busy, but we like it that way. My family has been making these recipes for a long time before we even opened this shop. We don't use fancy packaging either, just simple bags that keep things fresh. It's honest food for people who miss the way their grandmother used to cook.
