Shashi Spices & Food Products is located in Malakpet, right inside the Mahboob Mansion building. We have our setup at 370/B in the Sri Krupa Market. It’s a very traditional part of town and it’s always crowded with people looking for ingredients. The air around here usually smells like turmeric, chili, and cumin. We spend most of our time sorting through spices and getting them ready for customers. It’s a lot of manual work. We don’t use high-tech gadgets for everything; sometimes just looking at the product and feeling it is the best way to know if it’s any good. The market can be overwhelming for someone who isn't used to it, but we’ve been here so long it feels like home. Our space in Sri Krupa Market is packed with sacks and containers. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s a family-style environment even if we aren't all related. We know the other shopkeepers in Malakpet and we all look out for each other. Sometimes we run out of stock faster than we thought, or the rain makes it hard to move the goods. We just take it day by day. That’s how we’ve always operated at Shashi Spices & Food Products. It’s a busy, dusty, and honest way to make a living. We aren't interested in being the biggest seller, just a reliable one that the neighborhood can count on for their daily needs.
