Sai Vinayaka Bricks

Our place, Sai Vinayaka Bricks, is located in Ngos Colony over in Vanasthalipuram. We are right near the Sai Baba Temple and not far from Shri Indu P.G. College. It is a familiar neighborhood for a lot of people around here. The yard is usually full of activity because being near the college and the temple means there is always someone passing by. Making bricks in this part of town has its challenges, mostly with space and keeping the dust down so the neighbors don't get too bothered. We spend a lot of our time just moving things around and making sure the piles are steady. It is a lot of manual labor, and we don't try to hide that. No one here is wearing a suit or sitting in a fancy office. We are usually out by the stacks or near the entrance talking to the drivers. The heat in Vanasthalipuram can be something else in the summer, but we just start earlier in the morning to beat the worst of it. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just focus on getting the bricks fired and making sure they are solid enough for whatever building they are going into. It is a local business, run by local people who just know how to handle clay and fire. We like being part of the community and seeing our bricks end up in the houses around us. It makes the work feel worth it.
