Our spot is in Gulshan Iqbal Colony, right over in Baba Nagar. It’s a lively part of Chanranyan Gutta in Hyderabad. We’ve been at Hno.18-1-350/220/20 for a good bit of time now. It’s a news channel office, but it’s not like those big ones you see on TV with a hundred different sets. It’s just us here, working on local stories that matter to the people in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of our day talking to folks around the colony and seeing what’s going on. Sometimes the street gets real loud with all the traffic, and we have to wait a minute to record anything. That’s just part of being in Hyderabad, though. We try to keep our gear ready and our notebooks full. It’s mostly about keeping track of what’s happening nearby. My cousin helps out with the cameras sometimes when we have a big story to cover. We aren’t fancy, and we don’t have a big corporate budget. We just use what we have to get the news out. It’s a lot of long hours, sitting in this small room and editing clips or writing up notes. We’ve known the neighbors for years, and they often drop by to tell us if something interesting is happening down the road. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. We just keep showing up every day and seeing what the city has to say.
