Ramada Hotel

Our place is House Number F.49, located in the CAA Colony right by the airport in Karachi. Since we are so close to the landing strips, the sound of planes taking off and landing is basically the background music of our lives. You get so used to it that you stop noticing after a while, though visitors always seem a bit surprised. This is where we handle things for Ramada Hotel. The colony is mostly people who work for the aviation authorities or nearby, so it’s a specific kind of neighborhood. The house itself is a standard Karachi style, with a small courtyard where we sometimes sit if the weather isn't too punishing. The heat here can be really something in the summer, so we try to keep the indoor areas as cool as possible. It’s not a fancy corporate headquarters; it’s a house that we’ve turned into a workspace. We have our files and our computers set up in the main rooms. Being near the airport is convenient for us, obviously. There’s a certain routine to the day here, governed by the flight schedules and the shift changes at the terminal. It’s a practical location for our work. We don’t have any big signs outside, just the house number F.49 on the wall. It’s a quiet life when the planes aren't roaring overhead, and we just keep busy with the tasks on our desks.
